I decided to make my founder (Pixie) with green hair - a little weird, yes, but I want every heir to have this trait. It will be easier to keep track of who is the heir. The green hair has to be natural to the heir, not dyed and if any other children inherit the green hair and they do not become heir, they have to dye their hair another color. (Obviously, this won't apply if for some reason out in the world on their own, their kids have green hair, but I'm hoping to avoid that by making them dye it once they are not heir.)
I am going to follow the alphabet rule when naming children (1st child A, 2nd child B, etc.). Also, if twins or triplets are born, they all must have that letter. So, if the 3rd time children are born, Pixie has twins both twins will have C names.
UGLACY - I am still going to try an uglacy with this, mating my founder and heir with the ugliest sims I can find in the town.
I have a hard time controlling so many sims sometimes, so I have decided that I will not control the actions of any elder sim unless I am directing them to something that will fulfill their lifetime wish or getting them out of the way or something like that. Otherwise, elder sims will be on their own. Also, no elder can retire until they are level 10 of their careers.
I am going to try to wait until the heir is an adult before having any kids - This gives a little bit more time to enjoy the current family of sims and a better chance of fulfilling their lifetime wishes. This might not always happen, especially since I have the teen pregnancy and risky woo hoo mod and I am going to have teenagers always perform a risky woo hoo (giving a 10% chance of pregnancy).
A few minor things: No ghost resurrections, jobs must be "rabbithole" jobs, can't hire maid until family has at least §50,000, can't hire a butler until family has at least §100,000, no inheritance lifetime reward.
About houses - I suck at making and designing them and I find that I spend way too much with them. I am going to try to not redo houses so much. I have decided that I will only completely demolish a house if the § amount is equal to or greater than the current generation (x10,000). For example, if I am on generation 3, I can't demolish the house until I have at least §30,000. Of course, this isn't the hardest rule, but I just wasn't sure what to do about it. Basically, I am going to try not to demolish my houses so often and certainly at minimum only one time per generation. Adding on or adding a floor is ok - it's only completely demolishing that I spend too much time on.
OK - yup, that's about it for my own rules. :)
