Given Up.
HA HA HA!!! That didn't last long. I am not cut out for legacies or story telling for sure. I have already moved on to trying so many other different legacies and challenges. I just do not have the talent for story writing. I enjoy reading other people's legacies much more than trying to post my own. Meanwhile, I think I'll just stick to posting the occasional picture of one that I like comes up - but I have been doing that on Tumblr. I'm a terrible blogger. :-/

1.3 Very Short Engagement
I found out that Walter was not as young as I thought he was, so I quickly moved up our plans for a wedding. After he got off work, I met him at a cute little park and told him my plan.
I think Walter was both happy and a bit surprised as well. I think he might have been embarrassed at the lady that was so obviously eavesdropping.
Eventually we moved a more semi-private location and I just got down to business.
Now, Walter was really shocked and quite embarrassed, but he knows a good thing when he sees one. He accepted and I threw one more wrench into his toolbox. I told him I didn't want any engagement. I wanted to get married right then and there. At this point, I think he was used to my straightforwardness and just went with it.
And one final surprise. Walter brought a few simoleons (§1,948)with him to our relationship, but the greatest thing he brought was a car, which we sold in order to build a tiny starter home.

1.2 Meeting and Romancing
Walter and I met and even though he was already married and with a child, I think we both new it was love at first site. After that first meeting, I couldn't get him out of my head, so I invited him over to my house.

Too bad, my house was still...well, not even a house. I did buy a bench so we both had a place to sit.

Walter didn't really seem to mind. I was surprised, because he was loaded!! Oh well, he stayed the night, but had to leave in the morning for work.

"What's wrong? Did I hurt your back?"

"Heck no baby, you didn't hurt me! I love you."
I decided that I was pretty much going to be a slut, so I followed him to work and we continued our romance in public. This did not go over well with Walter's daughter.

And it was very inappropriate, but Walter and I just had to have a go one more time. We were both feeling pretty cocky afterwards.

Walter's marriage was over and I invited him to move in with me. His wife got all the money, of course, but he changed over to the music career and we dreamed of building a house and family together.

1.1 The Beginning

Me - Pixie Forest
This is me, Pixie Forest. I'm starting out on a new adventure. I'm a little nervous and a little scared, but plenty excited to see how this all plays out. You see, I'm a Sim, but not only that, I'm a founder - of a Legacy! Cool, right? Let's hope so.
I don't like to think about the "before" time, so let's just moving forward, ok? And so far, not much has happened in my life. I made the decision to go out on my own and start life anew. I plan on being remembered forever, throughout the generations of my family.
Well, hopefully I have a family. I have no one and not much right now.

Humble Beginnings Indeed
With the little money that I had, I couldn't start out in a real home. I couldn't even afford more than one wall. I got myself a cheap bed and a cheap toilet and I started from there. The first thing I did was head into town and buy some fruit. I planted some of it and saved the rest for when I got hungry.

Then I went right out and got myself a job. I knew that I wanted to help people and I love learning and books, so being a school teacher just felt right. Of course, you don't start out as a teacher in Riverview, but that's ok - I have a feeling I'll move up the ladder pretty quick.

Study Study Study
Things weren't the greatest for awhile. I didn't have money for furniture, so I hate my meals on the toilet! I didn't have a trashcan or sink, so dishes piled up wherever I had room to set them down.

I didn't know anyone in this town, so I started making friends with the local wildlife. This bird was pretty friendly.

Look - a talking bird!
I'm not ashamed to admit, that I used the free grills in the part to cook a hot meal every now and again. There is only so much cereal and bread with jam a girl can take!! I should be lucky that I could even afford a fridge, but hot dogs seemed like such a luxury to me.

MEAT!!
A few trips to the bookstore later and working my butt off at work means I got a promotion! And with a promotion, comes more money and with more money, comes more stuff. I managed to snap myself a sink - no more dishes piling up!!

Books can really make a girl happy.

Clean!! I still need a trash can.
Finally, things were looking up. My garden was growing, and I think I might be in love!

Fresh Fruit! Finally.

My new love.
Walter Grisby is a guy I met at the library. He's perfect for me! Except - he's married, with a daughter. Well, I don't think that will stop me from trying. He seemed to really enjoy my company. And I his. And since my family is supposed to be one of uglier and uglier generations - why not? Let the conquest of love being!
Starting Out
Well, I started playing the other day, but on a different computer, so I don't have any screenshots to show just yet. I started a new game in Riverview because I haven't played in that city before. I did add a few empty houses so there would be more places for my generations to move to when they move out, but that's about it as far as editing the town. I bought the lot required by Pinstar's rules (345 Rive Blossom Hills Drive) and started my game.
Huge problem though - I had just gotten married and just built my starter home when my game froze and all that progess was gone. I don't even know how far back I am now, but when I restarted, I was no longer married and had no house!!! Very frustrating. When I get back to it, I'll post again - this time with pictures.

My Own Rules
Well, I took some time to write out some rules that I want to follow for my legacy. I'm trying to follow a lot of the original rules as listed on the Sims 3 forums, but I needed a little more structure. I'm not such a hardcore player that I will "fail" if I don't follow all of these, but I'm going to my best.
I decided to make my founder (Pixie) with green hair - a little weird, yes, but I want every heir to have this trait. It will be easier to keep track of who is the heir. The green hair has to be natural to the heir, not dyed and if any other children inherit the green hair and they do not become heir, they have to dye their hair another color. (Obviously, this won't apply if for some reason out in the world on their own, their kids have green hair, but I'm hoping to avoid that by making them dye it once they are not heir.)
I am going to follow the alphabet rule when naming children (1st child A, 2nd child B, etc.). Also, if twins or triplets are born, they all must have that letter. So, if the 3rd time children are born, Pixie has twins both twins will have C names.
UGLACY - I am still going to try an uglacy with this, mating my founder and heir with the ugliest sims I can find in the town.
I have a hard time controlling so many sims sometimes, so I have decided that I will not control the actions of any elder sim unless I am directing them to something that will fulfill their lifetime wish or getting them out of the way or something like that. Otherwise, elder sims will be on their own. Also, no elder can retire until they are level 10 of their careers.
I am going to try to wait until the heir is an adult before having any kids - This gives a little bit more time to enjoy the current family of sims and a better chance of fulfilling their lifetime wishes. This might not always happen, especially since I have the teen pregnancy and risky woo hoo mod and I am going to have teenagers always perform a risky woo hoo (giving a 10% chance of pregnancy).

A few minor things: No ghost resurrections, jobs must be "rabbithole" jobs, can't hire maid until family has at least §50,000, can't hire a butler until family has at least §100,000, no inheritance lifetime reward.
About houses - I suck at making and designing them and I find that I spend way too much with them. I am going to try to not redo houses so much. I have decided that I will only completely demolish a house if the § amount is equal to or greater than the current generation (x10,000). For example, if I am on generation 3, I can't demolish the house until I have at least §30,000. Of course, this isn't the hardest rule, but I just wasn't sure what to do about it. Basically, I am going to try not to demolish my houses so often and certainly at minimum only one time per generation. Adding on or adding a floor is ok - it's only completely demolishing that I spend too much time on.
OK - yup, that's about it for my own rules. :)
